You are taught many things from birth: what to learn at school, how to do your job right, how to cook. You are not taught, however, something far more important; how to live your lives to the full with the tools you are given.
Your bodies are works of art, your brains like computers and the earth your playground. It sounds so simple when it is put like that but that is the biggest secret. Life can be that simple and enjoyable if you get the balance right.
Life should be fun, fulfilling, challenging, interesting,.. It is all down to how you view life and yourselves and how you look after each wonderful part - your body, your mind, your soul. Do a stock take of your lifestyle and find out what your goals are. It may be hard to begin with, you may never have really thought about yourself in that much detail, but it will get easier.
Take time in assessing your physical health. Can you change your eating habits and cut out the junk food? Can you do a little more exercise each day? Have you thought about improving your mind with a new challenge, taking up a hobby, reading an informative book or cutting down on the amount of TV you watch.
Think about your soul and try to fit in a peaceful walk and appreciate the beauty around you. Buy some relaxation music and make time for 'you'. If that is impossible find some relaxation/meditation music or words on the internet and just chill out. Or just sit on your favourite chair, close your eyes and let your thoughts just wander.
List areas of your life or parts of the day where you could make small changes to start to improve your 'whole' self. Every day consciously think of how you can improve your quality of life and try to achieve a few small steps each day.
Most of all be positive about what is in your life already. You may not be able to change all things like having to do housework, collecting the children or having to go to work, but you can choose to view it all in a positive manner. Think how you can improve the bits that you do not like and if that is not possible, concentrate on the good things in your life.
It is the additional effort you take each day with regard to your body, mind and soul that puts you on the path to optimum health and an amazing view of life.
